Transportation Specialist (LTL Department)

Job Summary:

Provide transportation rating and routing of client requests, bills of lading generation, shipment optimization and consolidation, carrier selection, and serve as an additional call management resource.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide shipment routing
  • Provide rate quotes as requested
  • Resolve client issues
  • Track and trace
  • Process bills of lading

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (general suite of products)
  • Knowledge of productivity management tools and statistical process
  • Understanding of TQM/ISO methodologies
  • Knowledge of transportation/supply chain management systems
  • Knowledge of accounting systems
  • Experience in managing domestic and international modes of transportation
  • Experience in carrier contracts and tariffs (accessorials)
  • Knowledge of freight bill processing (rating and auditing)
  • Experience in brokerage, forwarding, and/or carrier operations
  • Three to five years logistics or transportation related experience
  • Associate's degree preferred
  • Ability to work flexible shifts
