Dedicated service customized to your needs

Dedicated transportation services cover a wide range of applications. Truckload with stops and volume load-to-ride

Truckload with stops and volume load-to-ride services offer advantages that include fewer claims for damages and lost items.  This is because freight is handled once onto the truck and once off the truck at the dock. A well-designed truckload w/stop route can yield substantial savings as well. As shipments become larger and are classified as volume in size (generally four plus pallets, more than 5,000 pounds or 10+ linear feet of the trailer), the opportunity for cost savings increases.

Refrigerated truckload

Refrigerated loads require specific training for drivers and knowledge by shippers and receivers for handling product to ensure its quality and integrity.  One of the hardest areas of shipping in which to find a reliable carrier is in refrigerated freight.  Since every shipper has their own specific products, locations, and delivery dates, GTS offers a wide network of these expert temperature-control carriers to meet the diverse needs of our clients.

Flatbed, step deck and over dimensional

Flatbed, step deck and other non-enclosed trailers are utilized most often for freight which cannot be easily loaded from a dock or when no dock is available to load or unload the freight. Flatbeds can offer protection for freight in transit with tarps or simply be moved with the freight strapped to the trailer.  Step deck and other specialty flatbed trailers are available to accommodate various sized and weighted freight which require permitting, lane analysis, or other specific needs to travel safely and legally. Intermodal, specialized rail flatcar

GTS has a reliable network of intermodal carriers with access to all major rail freight points. We can arrange specialized containers, and refrigerated or heated shipping are easily handled. We will tailor all your needs for door-to-door service.  Intermodal shipping offers a vast savings on freight costs.   When choosing intermodal, expect longer transit times, and in some cases, slightly different loading/blocking/bracing requirements.

Hazardous Materials

A hazardous material is a substance or material which has been determined by the Department of Transportation (DOT) to be capable of posing an unreasonable risk to health, safety and property when transported.  You can count on our expertise to move your hazardous goods safely and securely.  Our carriers are properly certified by the DOT to haul hazmat materials. We have extensive experience with hazmat carriers and deal with many different types of commodities.

Drop Trailers

Drop trailers are used when a client can benefit from the pre-placement of unloaded (or loaded) equipment at either the origin or destination. Large manufacturers utilize drop trailer programs often to allow for surges in production without compromising more highly valuable floor space. By pre-loading trailers for pick up by our carriers, the process of picking up or delivering freight is simplified. Regular inbound or outbound freight can be an ideal situation for a drop trailer program. Even if you think you’re too small or constrained on space, talk to us about a possible drop trailer program.
